PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to build a new sign at Heinz Field out of seats.
The Steelers submitted an application the Pittsburgh Zoning Board of Adjustment to build a new sign inside the stadium, using new seats.
The new sign would reportedly replace some yellow seats with black seats to spell out the letters of Heinz Field.
The zoning office ruled that the sign would fall under a “roof sign” provision.
The Steelers are appealing that decision to the zoning board to overturn that ruling, since the sign is technically inside the stadium.
A public hearing on the sign ruling has been scheduled for May 23.
