Federal Lawsuit Filed Against Churchill Borough, Officer For Alleged Civil Rights Violations

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two local law firms have filed a federal lawsuit against Churchill Borough and a police officer for alleged civil rights violations.

Todd J. Hollis Law says its firm and Trial Law Firm have been retained to prosecute alleged claims related to a civil rights violation.

According to a press conference held by the firms, a woman from out of town had her rights violated by Officer Stephen Shaulis.

She says she was on a walk when she was asked for her identification. The officer allegedly said he had received a call about a possible “squatter,” which was why he needed to see her ID.

After the incident, the woman says she had injuries on her wrist.

Todd J. Hollis Law is a personal injury and civil rights law firm.
